Aerial yoga, also known as anti-gravity yoga, combines traditional yoga poses, pilates, and dance with the use of a hammock or silk fabric suspended from the ceiling. It offers a unique way to practice yoga by incorporating elements of acrobatics and aerial arts.

Meet Your Director
David Picano
David took his first AntiGravity® Yoga class at Raffa Yoga in March 2011 followed shortly after by a power yoga class. He found a calling in hanging upside down and immediately made the practice a part of his life. David is a certified AntiGravity® Yoga instructor.
He completed AntiGravity® Flying Fitness Teacher Training with the creator himself Christopher Harrison. David also holds a BA in Digital Recording Arts. Having been a DJ for over 5 years prior to teaching, David’s classes’ feature exclusively tailored playlists that are sure to have you grooving from the womb to cocoon. He offers comprehensive instruction for new comers and challenging combinations for experienced flyers.

For experienced yogis, David's performance team offers a new dimension to aerial practice, adding complexity, variety, and sequencing to traditional poses.

If you have any of the below conditions, Aerial Yoga is not recommended.

Pregnancy, Glaucoma, recent surgery, Heart disease, very high / low blood pressure, easy onset vertigo, Osteoporosis, recent head surgery, Cerebral Sclerosis, propensity for fainting, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, severe Arthritis, Sinusitis, Hiatal hernia, Disc Herniation or acute Discogenic disease, recent stroke, artificial hips, Radiculitis, severe muscle spasms, botox (within 6 hours).

Physical Agility
These classes require upper body, wrist, and shoulder strength.
